    tranquil atmosphere
    excellent onsen
    cleanliness issues
    aging facilities

    Does it deliver?

Tranquil atmosphere and a good breakfast with a polite staff. The onsen was open all night.

Despite the charm, the facilities showed signs of age with some cleaning issues. A tear in my blanket was quite off-putting and disrupted my comfort.

Staff were good, breakfast was delicious. The location was secluded, fantastic away in the mountains. Further, it was near bus stop, and nearby tourist sites: D

The hotel was a relaxing base for enjoying a very quiet area, close enough to nearby tourist sites and river and forest and the public areas. It was surely a really great stay in winter time.

    cozy private onsen
    delicious meals
    cleanliness issue

My 3-night stay was fantastic with cozy private onsens and delicious meals, especially the traditional 12-course kaiseki! Only downside was a few cleanliness issues in the common areas. I'd definitely revisit!

    traditional japanese hotel
    friendly staff
    spacious room

Kazeya is a lovely traditional japanese hotel nestled in the hills. Our room was spacious with a handy kitchenette. We especially enjoyed the onsen, both private and public, after a long day. The friendly staff spoke good english, which really added to our experience.

the walls were a bit thin, leading to some noise disturbances during the night.
